Christmas Recap

December 27, 2010

Christmas with Caroline was absolutely everything I dreamed it would be. I waited so long to share Christmas with a child of my own and it was perfect. It was perfect just because she was here.

On Christmas Eve, we baked Christmas cookies. Caroline was a fan of the frosting.

That night, dressed in her Christmas jammies, she listened to Daddy read The Night Before Christmas.

Meanwhile the Griswald Cochran family Christmas tree was coming together. Just needs a few gifts from the fat man to make it complete. Good thing we made him cookies earlier.

Christmas morning, Caroline was up at 5:00. I don’t know who was more excited. Well, I do. I was. She didn’t really know what was about to happen. We had to wait until her brother woke up at 6:30 to open presents. While they waited for Grandma and Grandpa to make their way upstairs, the kids assessed the situation.

Caroline got a rockin’ new chair that she thought was the bomb.

After all the presents were opened, it looked like a wrapping paper and box bomb exploded in the living room.

Caroline really dug her new chair. Check out her awesome Ravens slippers.

Really dug it. (Yeah, she’s rockin her new clothies.)

The rest of the day was spent playing with new toys, spending time with family and napping. It was the best Christmas of my life, all because of sweet Caroline. I can’t believe that last Christmas, she wasn’t here. How did I manage to even celebrate?
